While hiking around Coyote Canyon I stop to take a few Photographs of this amazing canyon. I stop and did a thumbnail sketch when I got back into my studio I knew this had to be painted. I darkened the back of the canyon and then I proceeded with the shadows and trees. I kept on attacking with transparent layers of colors from light to dark and from warm to cool until I was satisfied with the results. This watercolor painting is on 300 pound cold press paper.
